About Us

My father, David McKenna, began building Torque Converters out of the garage of our house in 1972. The business quickly grew and he relocated to our building on 4th St. SE in Canton under the name Banana Torque Converters.

In 1998, he retired and handed the business over to me. 

In 2006, I began Ohio Performance Transmissions, Inc. as a wholesale distributer of high performance transmissions and transmission parts.

In 2012, I moved the business to a newer 20,000 square foot building and began Cyclone Transmissions. At Cyclone Transmissions we specialize in performance and restoration transmissions. We also provide installation and service of all foreign and domestic models.

In 2016, we moved back to our original building after extensive remodeling, and continue to provide the same level of service we our known for. We are a vendor of many manufacturers, including Raybestos, BorgWarner, Transtec, and Seal Aftermarket.
